Ten Cal Poly student research projects were selected to represent the university at the annual CSU systemwide competition, four of those from CAFES. The Cal Poly delegates were chosen from 39 projects involving 57 undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent alumni. San Francisco State University will host the 36th annual CSU Student Research Competition in a virtual format. The following CAFES students (and their mentors) were selected:

• Hannah Heath, mentored by Michael La Frano
• Jack Koster, mentored by Shashika Hewavitharana
• Isaac Ho, mentored by Amy Lammert
• Kimiko Casuga and Chloe McGovern, mentored by Amanda Lathrop
