George Wurzel Plant Sciences Groundbreaking
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Nov. 3 to celebrate the upcoming George Wurzel Plant Sciences Building, part of the planned state-of-the-art Plant Sciences Complex. The complex will include support for teaching and applied innovation in soil health, water and air quality, plant cultivation, harvesting and processing, food safety, forestry and reforestation, as well as a site for automation and systems testing. The donor funded project will give students the tools that they need to help find solutions to feeding the world in sustainable ways. Donors Jim and Suzanne Boswell and the James G. Boswell Foundation donated in honor of the family’s longtime friend and colleague George Wurzel (the building’s namesake). Dozens of other donors and partners have also contributed to bring this facility to students.
