Former Animal Science Department Head Jaymie Noland and Associate Department Head Kim Sprayberry took students from Cal Poly Thoroughbred Enterprise to Kentucky in late April to visit the Kentucky Derby, as well as industry partners to learn more about internships and employment opportunities. Students met trainer Kenny McPeek, whose horse Mystik Dan won both the Kentucky Derby and the Kentucky Oaks, in back-to-back events and the Triple Crown winner American Pharoah at Coolmore.
