Summer Undergraduate Research Program
The 2023-24 Summer Undergraduate Research Program kicked off Thursday, June 27, with more than 40 student participants offering a brief PowerPoint presentation outlining their intended research plan, the goals and the methodology that will be used. Projects include determining how bull behavior impacts feed efficiency, studying the microbial DNA of avocado pits in organic versus non-organic fruits and researching the long-term implications of fire retardants native grasses.
An updated schedule of workshops and social events can be found here. Students must attend five events in addition to the final poster symposium. SURP will culminate on Aug. 29 with students presenting their findings as the annual poster symposium at the JUSTIN and J. LOHR Center for Wine and Viticulture.
