
March is National Nutrition Month
March marks National Nutrition Month, an initiative of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This year’s theme is “Food Connects Us.” To celebrate, the Food Science and Nutrition Department is hosting a Nutrition Fair on Tuesday, March 11 at 1901 Marketplace, featuring clubs, local growers, registered dieticians, Cal Poly farm fresh produce, CalFresh, the Cal Poly Food Pantry and unique craft activities.
On Tuesday, March 12, dietetic interns are hosting an ASI children’s cooking class in the Frost Culinary Lab (181-124) at 9:30 a.m. Dietetic interns are developing a curriculum to teach children about nutrition, prepare a simple recipe together, and decorate their own aprons or chef’s hats.
