Faculty and students from the Plant Sciences Department have been working since 2019 to help restore native plant habitat to the Oceano Dunes near the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation area through a grant from the California Department of Parks and Recreation. A new $980,000 grant was recently received to extend that work. A team of students recently worked to collect native seeds from the Oso Flaco portion of the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area.
