The annual Cal Poly Performance Horse Sale will be held Saturday, June 1, at the Oppenheimer Family Equine Center. The horses to be auctioned have been born, raised, and trained by Cal Poly students. In the Quarter Horse Enterprise project, students trained the horses to work cattle, ride on trails and perform arena work such as stops and turn-arounds.

On sale day, students demonstrate each horse’s athletic ability under saddle during dry arena and cow work. Potential buyers are also able to visit with the student trainers to learn more about the horses’ characteristics and training.
